Surviving May-cember: A Busy Mom’s Guide to Looking Put Together Without Trying Too Hard
If your calendar currently looks like a game of Tetris… welcome. You’re in May-cember, friend.
Field trips, concerts, sports, teacher gifts, graduations, cookouts, late nights, early mornings and somehow figuring out what’s for dinner in the middle of all of it. It’s a lot.
And somewhere in between being everyone else’s snack dealer, chauffeur and emotional support human… you’re trying to remember you matter too.
So this isn’t your reminder to “do more.” This is your reminder to make things easier where you can.
Because sometimes surviving May-cember looks like dry shampoo, iced coffee and giving yourself a little grace while whispering “Jesus take the wheel” on the way to your third stop of the day.
Here are 3 grab-and-go style & life tips helping me survive the chaos right now:
1. Leave-on jewelry is the real MVP
The less decisions you have to make in the morning, the better.
That’s why permanent jewelry becomes such a lifesaver this time of year. It’s already there. You wake up looking a little more put together before you even brush your hair.
Pool days? Fine. Beach trips? Fine. Sweaty baseball games and running errands in leggings for the 4th day in a row? Also fine.
It’s truly “set it and forget it” jewelry for moms who are doing approximately 47 things at once.
And honestly? There’s something really comforting about having a piece you wear every day through all the chaos, celebrations and little moments in between.
You know once this chaos month is over you're gonna need some time with the girls so it’s time to book your summer linx date. And if you need to add one like NOW...contact me to set up an appointment or to find out where I'll be this month.
2. Keep a “throw on and go” stack ready
You know those mornings where you have exactly 2 minutes to get ready because someone suddenly remembered they needed poster board? Yeah. Those mornings.
This is where the threaded bracelet/anklet sets shine.
The Unicorn, Sunshine and Sky sets are brand new & perfect because they already give that layered summer look without you having to think about it. Just throw them on with your swimsuit, biker shorts, oversized tee or casual dress and suddenly you look intentional.
Even better? You can leave them on all season long until they naturally wear out and fall off. No clasps. No fuss. No digging through tangled jewelry while the kids are yelling from the other room.
Make sure to grab yours soon though cause they are only around in May & June.
3. Find 10 quiet minutes somewhere in your day
Not productive minutes. Not folding laundry while answering emails minutes. Actual quiet minutes. I know it seems impossible.
Before the house wakes up. Sitting in car line. In the shower hiding from everyone for 5 minutes. Wherever you can find them.
May-cember has a way of making moms feel like we constantly have to go, go, go. And while this season is full of beautiful memories, it can also feel really overwhelming.
So this is your reminder that resting for a minute does not make you lazy. Taking a breath does not mean you’re falling behind.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause long enough to drink your coffee while it’s still warm, say a quick prayer and remind yourself that God never expected you to carry this season perfectly. Grace counts too. And you're not alone!
You are allowed to slow down for a moment, even in the middle of the chaos.
And friend? You’re doing better than you think you are.
May-cember may be loud and exhausting and a little unhinged… but you’ve got this. One coffee, one car ride and one grace-filled day at a time.
Now tell me… which tip are you using the most this season?
